Across thirteen projects over three years, LMNOP partnered with Rebar Group to prototype new ways to transform everyday spaces into places for gathering, play, and community.
URBAN INTERVENTIONS
LMNOP collaborated closely with Rebar Group on a diverse body of design-build work, from parklets and public installations to workplace improvements and event infrastructure, that explored how the built environment can shape our everyday experiences. Together, the partnership delivered temporary and permanent interventions throughout the Bay Area, translating experimental concepts into durable, constructible environments that balanced creativity with practical execution.
The work ranged widely in scale and program. Public parklets reclaimed on-street parking for people, custom streetscape elements activated civic events and public plazas, and Bubbleware was implemented across the Pacific Ocean in Sydney, Australia. Beyond the public realm, LMNOP also partnered with Rebar to build their own office space and fabricate specialized architectural components for exhibitions and brand activations. While Rebar Group merged with Gehl in 2014, LMNOP continued to work with Gehl to strengthen communities by making everyday places more welcoming, playful, and useful.
